Our History
Houghton & Meredith was founded in 1973 by Peter Houghton and Paul Meredith, to meet the growing demands of civil infrastructure works in the greater Sydney region.
The company grew considerably over the decades; whether it was laying large storm water reticulation systems, constructing major arterial roads or providing housing to the ever increasing greater Sydney region through sub-division works.
Les and James Meredith joined in the early 1990’s. Through the mentorship of their father and Peter Houghton the young men became professionals within their own rights.
In 2002 James and Les purchased the remainder of the company from Peter. Since the acquisition the company has been solely operated by the Meredith family. Through their strong family values and dedication the Meredith family has broadened the company’s activates and continued to promote the company’s relationships with long-term and new clients.
